About
Adrián González Molina (American, b. 1991) is a queer Latinx artist from South Texas, now living and working in New York City. Raised near the U.S.-Mexico border, Adrián grew up navigating overlapping worlds—cultural, linguistic, and geographic—that continue to shape his creative practice.
He concentrated in Studies of Women, Gender & Sexuality at Harvard University (‘13), where he developed a deep interest in identity, power, and the politics of visibility. He later earned a J.D. from Yale Law School (‘19). Before turning his attention to painting, Adrián practiced as a litigator for a white-shoe firm in New York, representing clients in high-stakes white-collar and government investigations.
Adrián came to painting as a way to reconnect with his creative intuition after years in high-pressure professional settings. Self-taught, his practice has since grown into a committed exploration of memory, environment, and the aesthetics of everyday life. He currently works out of a home studio in Yorkville, creating pieces that draw from both his South Texas upbringing and his present-day experiences in New York City.
His work is held in private collections across the U.S., and he continues to build his practice through commissions and independent projects.
